CHRISTOPHER WALKER SCULPTURE
The Story so far...
Christopher Walker is an artist who works primarily with stone, although other materials and found objects have been used in his work. Fascinated by fossils as a child exploring the Jurassic Coast, Walker's first experience of working with stone was at the Portland Sculpture and Quarry Trust. His work is premised on stone as a found object, an object in which a presence already exists. Walker's interest is in the haptic quality of stone - the sense of touch - informs his approach to carving and working stone and the way in which the work is encountered.
